Top Trends for your Fall Refresh

Halloween has come and gone. Fall has finally descended on Georgia, even though it feels like we skipped straight to winter! While you are transitioning you summer wardrobes to heavy jackets, a nagging feeling may be weighing upon your heart. Is it the loss of wearing shorts? No. Hosting the holidays.

I love hosting a big Thanksgiving for both sides of our family. My daughter’s birthday always falls during the week of Thanksgiving. This year it is actually on Thanksgiving Day! This will be my 10th year hosting Thanksgiving! I can’t believe how time has passed so quickly! The first Thanksgiving that I hosted the whole family came because I was only a few days away from my due date and everyone was hoping she would make her appearance! She came 2 days later. Now, 10 years later both sides of the family come and we always have birthday cake and presents after Thanksgiving dinner.

This time of the year always makes me start looking around the house to see what update I can squeeze in before our family is knocking at the door. I think my husband starts to sense that I have ideas because he starts noticing that projects I completed last fall.

3 cheeky birds design bringing geometric designs and jewel tones into the living room

A fall refresh is the perfect way to spruce up your home just in time for Thanksgiving. Trends for 2019 include lovely jewel tones, which bring color and vibrancy into the home. Adding a little depth and color to your home can be easily achieved by adding new pillows to the living room or a new piece of artwork. Cozy soft fabrics are a perfect addition to the home, bringing a welcoming feel for your guests. Add soft throw, fluffy pillows or even a new rug.

My favorite jewel tone is emerald. I love incorporating it with natural elements with flower arrangements or house plants. All jewel tones lend themselves nicely to rich fabrics like velvet. Soft fabrics really warm up a space when the winter cold starts to set in. Other popular jewel tones this season include peacock blue. Any pop of color in your home is going to make it instantly more welcoming and just feel finished. Trust me your mother-in-law will notice!

The dining room has been a popular project as of late for our clients. This type of project can be as simple as bringing in a new table setting, new paint colors or a complete overhaul of your current design. The correct Feng Shui in the dining room can help create a joyful atmosphere, help the digestion and most importantly the harmony of family members. We recently helped a client choose paint colors for her dining room using Feng Shui. She was able to bring a gorgeous shade of navy blue to the room. The dining room is now the correct Feng Shui and completely on trend for 2020, Sherwin Williams even announced her color choice as the 2020 Color of the Year!
